They say that history repeats itself, and right now we are repeating history, and it’s right from the pages of George Orwell’s 1984.
According to the New York Post multiple Germany officials have approved plans to hold people that refuse to quarantine will be held in detention centers, even under police guard.
Some German states such as Saxony is experiencing one of the worst outbreaks in all of Europe, and according to the Telegraph that area of the country has already approved plans to hold quarantine-breakers in a fenced-off section in a refugee camp.
Other German states that include Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, and Baden-Wurttemberg have also approved similar rules to be enforced.
In Schleswig-Holstein, repeat offenders will be kept in a special area in a juvenile detention center, and in the state of Baden-Wurttemberg has two hospitals with rooms to hold the scofflaws, which will be guarded by police.
These centers are put in place mainly to target repeat offenders. Germany already has over 2 million cases of COVID-19 and 47,000 deaths related to COVID-19.
There was a law passed by the German Bundestag in March passed under the Disease Protection Act that was renewed in November as Germany began imposing stricter coronavirus restrictions on its people.
