“Maybe you can make a better life there in that country” – Sheriff Jones
It’s been no secret that law enforcement has been one of President Trump’s strongest constituent groups. During Trump’s presidency he has focused on a “law and order” platform. According to Breitbart, over 900,000 officers across the country have endorsed President Trump. A couple of those high profile endorsements come from the union of New York City police officers (24,000), and the Fraternal Order of Police (355,000) per Breitbart.com.
So when someone in law enforcement is very outspoken it really doesn’t come as much of a surprise. In comes the Sheriff of Butler County Ohio Rick Jones. Sheriff Jones first became a household name to many in Ohio when he came out and said he wouldn’t enforce Governor Dewine’s mask mandate stating, “We are not the mask police.” Today he is making another splash, this time aimed at those people (who usually happen to be uber rich celebrities) who are constantly saying that they are going to leave the country.
“Good for you. I hope you do leave.”
Sheriff Jones
Sheriff Jones justifies making these comments saying, “(Celebrities) These are the same people that don’t like the police, don’t like first responders, so I feel obligated to make a response to that.” He then offers his assistance to anyone that wants to take him up on that. Sheriff Jones seems to be clearly fed up with a lot of the anti-police sentiment that is coming from many Hollywood celebrities, and rightly so. Most of these people live in rich neighborhoods with walls surrounding their multi-million dollar homes. And lets not forget their private security forces that protect them.
“The last election, the ones that promised, never left”
Sheriff Jones
The Sheriff points out the fact that many of the people that complained, and threatened to leave; are still here! Here’s just a small list of those that threatened to leave the country if Trump won; and the country they threatened to go to according to the Hollywood Reporter: Whoopi Goldberg, Lena Dunham (Canada), Snoop Dogg (Canada), Cher (Jupiter), Miley Cyrus, George Lopez (Mexico), among others….
“This is the greatest country in the world, no matter who the President is”
Sheriff Jones
Clearly all these celebrities, and “special people”, as Sheriff Jones puts it, are all talk and no action. He seems to mostly be stirring the pot, and knows what fires his constituents up. It also seems to work in his favor. Sheriff Jones was elected county sheriff in 2005, and elected to his 4th term in 2016 according to the Butler County Sheriff website.
