Trey Gowdy appeared on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo earlier this morning to discuss the latest revelations following US Attorney John Durham’s eight hour interview with Barack Obama’s CIA Director, John Brennan.
Gowdy told Ms. Bartiromo that he expects the Durham probe into the corrupt activities of the DOJ, FBI and CIA during the “spygate” conspiracy with the intent to, first derail President Trump’s campaign, and later end his presidency, has yielded all of the legal accountability it is going to.
That amounts to a slap on the wrist to the FBI attorney, Kevin Clinsesmith, who falsified a document that attested to Carter Page’s innocence in order to bolster a fraudulent FISA application.
The former FBI lawyer pleaded guilty last month in federal court to a single count of making a false statement in what Gowdy believes will be the first and only criminal case arising from Durham’s probe.
Durham could have indicted Clinesmith under 18 USC §1519, destruction of federal investigative records. That charge carries a 20 year maximum sentence with it.
The fact that Durham let Clinesmith plea to the lesser charge of violating 18 U.S. Code § 1001, and didn’t even seek the maximum sentence of 5 years gave us hope that Durham had made a deal with Clinesmith to turn state’s evidence against the bigger fish.
Gowdy, now tells us he does not expect to see any legal consequences as an outcome of the John Durham investigation beyond the plea deal given to former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith… That it’ll be up to the voters to mete out any punishment, if there is to be any punishment for those who conspired against a duly-elected president.
This amounts to the political class, and their minions at the DOJ, flipping the bird to the regular people who think they actually get to choose their leaders.

We now have to come to terms with the Uniparty’s legal subversions. When an outsider threatens the Uniparty’s stranglehold on America’s self-destructive policy, they will do whatever it takes to neuter, and ultimately end, his presidency.
And, whatever legal manipulations are necessary to justify their survival will be ignored or justified by equally corrupt prosecutors.
