Last week, the mayor of Portland, Oregon Ted Wheeler (D) asked for the help of the community in “unmasking” those participating in riots and members of ANTIFA. According to a report, a two-minute video was released Wednesday night where a masked member of ANTIFA threatened the mayor and even publicized his home address.
In a distorted voice, the masked person stated “Ted, we are asking for the last time that you resign. If you ignore this message outright, the destruction to your precious way of life is going to escalate. Blood is already on your hands, Ted. The next time, it may just be your own.” The video also released the address of where Wheeler lives.
The Portland Police Bureau as well as the FBI are currently investigating the nature of this video. The Twitter account that uploaded the video was created that same day with only one follower with the username “@Hazeee1312”,”1312” being numeric coding for “ACAB”.
This user’s account was created in 2013 and included a profile picture of a white mask very similar to the one seen in the video. Within just hours of sharing the video, @Hazeee1312 deleted their entire account.
It has been reported that the @Hazeee1312 account was created by a far-left journalist by the name of Jarrid Bailey Huber. He is a 21 year old Oregon native and has been involved in ANTIFA protests and riots in Portland and other U.S. cities.
His other social media accounts are filled with extremist content and flyers for BLM-ANTIFA events. When asked for comments, Huber denied involvement in the making of the video and stated that he only shared it like he was asked to.
FBI Portland’s spokesperson Beth Anne Steele has released the following public statement:
“The FBI is aware of the video and is assisting Portland Police Bureau in the investigation. Due to the on-going nature of the case, we have no further information to release at this time. Anyone with information as to the person or people responsible for this video are encouraged to contact the FBI or PPB. The FBI can be reached at (503) 224-4181 or via tips.fbi.gov.”
