Conservative commentator Candace Owens tweeted over the weekend that she is contemplating a potential run as a presidential candidate.
Owens is currently involved with a number of different political activities including being the founder of BLEXIT, an organization designed to change the narrative around minority communities and to promote an “exit” from the Democrat party. She also released her first book, Blackout: How Black America Can Make Its Second Escape from the Democrat Plantation, last year in September.
Furthermore, she is currently in the process of starting her own podcast series with The Daily Wire after previously working for other conservative media outlets such as PragerU and Turning Point USA.
After hinting at a potential presidential run, Owens responded to some criticism on twitter.
Owens also took to twitter to address the riots that occurred on Jan. 6 where she specifically noted that this is an important time for conservatives to speak up.
“If you’re smarter than a 5th grader, you realize that the radical Left is trying to brainwash the world into believing January 6th was similar to 9/11 or Pearl Harbor” she began.
“Every good dictator needs a ‘reason’ and a ‘justification’ for locking up, censoring, and criminalizing all acts of political dissent. That is why I will #NeverForgetJanury6th. Because it’s become a justification for evil against half our country who remain innocent.”
“For any conservatives who do not have the courage to admit this and are capitulating to the sweeping acts that are being committed against citizens—including President Trump—you will come to regret such spinelessness. This is an important time in our country. Speak up” she concluded.
