Last night, State Representative Cynthia A. Johnson from Michigan’s 5th District released a video on social media making threats against Trump supporters and calling on her soldiers to incite violence.
In the video, Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson said, “This is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful. Walk lightly. We ain’t playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough. And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right. Be in order. Make them pay.”
Following the viral video where she threatened nearly half of the voters in the country who cast their ballots for Trump, the Michigan Speaker of the House, Lee Chatfield, and Speaker-elect, Jason Wentworth, removed Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson from all of her committees. The official statement also detailed that “further disciplinary action” was being looked into and that authorities were conducting private investigations. One such authority is the Michigan State Police, who have been notified of the threats and have said to be investigating Rep. Cynthia A. Johnson’s vile and unacceptable threats.
Within the statement, Chatfield said that, “Threats to Democrats or Republicans are unacceptable and un-American” and are “even more unbecoming of an elected official.”
In a second video released this morning by Cynthia A. Johnson on her Facebook page, she said, “I wanted to share something with the soldiers. All you soldiers, soldiers of Christ. Soldiers against racism. Soldiers against misogyny. Soldiers against domestic violence and domestic terrorism. Soldiers rise. It’s time for you to rise. Soldiers, soldiers for Christ. Soldiers against racism. Soldiers against misogyny. Soldiers for black and brown people who are being mistreated. Rise, soldiers.”
