House Republicans sent a letter to the Sergeant at Arms Friday evening claiming Speaker Nancy Pelosi broke her own rules by walking around the metal detectors before entering the floor, according to the Daily Caller.

Republican Reps. Rodney Davis, Bryan Steil, and Barry Loudermilk demanded that Pelosi be held to the same standards as everyone else. The penalty for evading the metal detectors is a $5,000 fine.

“House Resolution 73 directs you in your capacity as Sergeant at Arms to impose fines against members of the House who fail tom complete security screening prior to entering the House Chamber,” the letter says.

“Yesterday, at approximately 9:59am, multiple members observed the Speaker of the House [Pelosi] entering the House Chamber without completing security screening,” the letter continues.

The House installed these metal detectors in January after the Jan. 6 Capitol building riots. All members of Congress have to walk through them before they are allowed to go on the House floor.

Republican Reps. Andrew Clyde and Louie Gohmert were each fined $5,000 on Friday for avoiding the metal detectors, according to NBC News. Gohemert blasted the new rule back in January, saying the metal detectors could not “stop” him.

“You can’t stop me; I’m on my way to a vote,” Gohmert told Capitol police early January.
