Trump Attacked for Protecting the American People

After the American people read and dissected the 5,600-page Omnibus bill yesterday for our government representatives, who passed it within two hours, President Trump took to Twitter to slam the bill as a “disgrace” and requested a Congressional amendment. In his video, he demanded the inclusion of $2000 dollars to qualifying Americans, not the currently proposed $600, which was immediately applauded by Nancy Pelosi, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Bernie Sanders. He also requested the pork to be trimmed, saying, “It’s called the Covid relief bill, but it has almost nothing to do with Covid.”

One Democrat didn’t get the message, and with seemingly pre-planned precision, Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) took the opportunity to attack Trump. Appearing Tuesday night on Rachel Maddow’s show on MSNBC, Klobuchar stated, “This is an attack on every American, people who are struggling to get by right now, out of work, whose unemployment, the unemployment is going to basically end the day after Christmas if this doesn’t pass.” She later joined other Democrats in a subtle 2 AM post on Twitter to support higher direct payments while claiming Trump has been “Hiding out.”

Good to be on @Maddow to make case against Trump’s pardons&his threat to veto pandemic relief, with $ for vaccines, rent, food.

Get more direct payments? Yes. Then he must get his own party to support them.

A veto of the bill after hiding out? Bad.

After instituting policies regarding the pandemic that have been solely responsible for closing businesses, stifling their potential, and putting people out of work, Democrats have also failed by blocking real efforts in the House to help the American people for months. Despite this fact, while staring into the salivating faces of her spendthrift colleagues, the failed presidential nominee took the opportunity to blame Trump for Democrat failures again. “He is literally trying to burn this country down on his way out.” We need the help for the states to get the vaccines out, and he is literally undermining our entire effort on testing and vaccine distribution. This was a hard-fought negotiation,” she said.

As a reminder for the senator, only 1%  of the $900 billion dollar bill was initially slated to help with vaccine distribution. While this may have been difficult to negotiate to help the American people, it seemingly wasn’t that difficult to send millions to help gender programs in Pakistan or a cool billion dollars for the Smithsonian. “We have the votes to override his veto in the houses,” she went on to say, despite their inability to do anything since October and a possible return to DC over Christmas. It will be interesting to see what the next iteration of the bill will be. Still, one thing seems sure; the Democrats are using the much-needed aid to Americans as cards to play political games, shift blame, and force millions of Americans to fund unfocused and questionable expenditures.

Perhaps Senator Klobuchar is more upset over the fact that she fought hard to include $15 billion in this bill to help save live music venues, something she has already proudly exclaimed in an interview with Rolling Stone, “We saved the music!” Ironically, her policies and those of her Democrat compatriots have helped restrain these businesses during the national crisis fiscally. To Senator Klobuchar, raising the aid to each American citizen while reducing unrelated spending is “An attack on every American.” If those are attacks, then fire away.
